Current status of the Paul Duris genealogy by Christian PINEAU for the "La Bouinotte" review
The 1851 Census log (2ème section, 3ème cahier) mentions the whole family, their professions, their usual names (bold) with an address at : 37 rue des marins (1) (2).
Jacques Duris, a fuller, is written off from the electoral roll of
Châteauroux in 1856 with an observation " to Argenton ".
Note : A François Duris , joiner, living rue des marins, also appears on the
electoral roll of Châteauroux in 1856 with an observation " out of Châteauroux ".
In 1874, the mother is a widow* (cf Archives de la Marine letters), her address is : 46 rue de la bouquerie.
According to the parents wedding certificate :
The father's parents (Etienne Duris (journalier) and Félicité Braud) deceased
29/12/1817 & 16/04/1814, a decease act had been established in Châteauroux
for deceases in Châteauroux. Incapable of provide the genuine acts, he declares
under oath that he doesn't know neither their death places nor their last home
place.
The mother's parents are : Louis Firmin (pork butcher (roofer, on the born act of Geneviève Louise Firmin)) & Geneviève Barrois (or Barroy, on the born act of Geneviève Louise Firmin).
No death certificate for the 4 children were found up to 1912 in Châteauroux (average age from 73 to 82)
The next census logs (1856, 1861, etc..), that could have helped following the family evolution won't be available before july 2005.
Father's birth certificate : A search has to be done in Saint Maur on the registers from 1790 to 1798, only the 1796 register has been searched. Father civil status is pretty vague, he declares to be 35 years old in 1825 & in 1829, 36 years old in 1833, 40 years old in 1838 et 55 years old in 1851.
